Indonesian National Narcotics Agency Pledges to Uphold Prabowo's Drug Eradication Vision

The Head of the National Narcotics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BNN RI), Commissioner General Suyudi Ario Seto, has stated that the BNN is ready to support President RI Prabowo Subianto's policies in eradicating narcotics. Suyudi emphasized that the BNN is prepared to be at the forefront and collaborate with various institutions for drug eradication. "BNN RI is ready to be at the forefront in guarding the President's policies, strengthening national and international collaboration, and continuing to transform into an institution that is increasingly professional, modern, adaptive, humane, and trustworthy," Suyudi said at the commemoration of International Anti-Narcotics Day (HANI) 2026 in Lido, Bogor, on Thursday (23/7). Suyudi revealed BNN's commitment to increasing drug eradication efforts. He stated that BNN's drug eradication is carried out professionally and sustainably. "We reaffirm BNN RI's commitment to continuously enhance all efforts in preventing and eradicating the abuse and illicit trafficking of narcotics firmly, professionally, measurably, and sustainably," he said. Furthermore, Suyudi said that drug eradication is crucial for building a healthy, intelligent, and strong generation. He asserted that this is one of the efforts to realize 'Indonesia Emas 2045' (Golden Indonesia 2045). "With the support and synergy of all components of the nation, we believe Indonesia can build a healthier, more intelligent, stronger, and highly competitive generation as a foundation towards Indonesia Emas 2045," he said. The theme for HANI 2026 is 'Building a Healthy, Intelligent, and Strong Generation Through the Ananda Bersinar Movement Towards Indonesia Emas 2045'. The event was attended by several government officials, stakeholders, and various community elements. Suyudi stated that Indonesia is in a crucial phase to prepare the generation that will lead the nation towards Indonesia Emas 2045. According to him, human resource development is one of the keys to facing the demographic bonus. "Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed attendees, the Indonesian nation is in a very decisive phase. We are preparing the generation that will fill the peak of the demographic bonus and lead Indonesia towards the great story of Golden Indonesia 2045," said Suyudi. "To achieve this, we need human resources that are healthy, intelligent, superior, productive, have character, and possess high competitiveness," he added. Suyudi further explained that the government has developed various programs to improve the quality of Indonesian people. These efforts are realized through programs such as Free Nutritious Meals (MBG), School of the People, Garuda School, strengthening national food security, and vocational training. According to him, human resource development must be accompanied by protection for the younger generation from various threats, including the abuse and illicit trafficking of narcotics. "However, amidst these great endeavors, narcotics remain a serious threat that can damage the quality of a generation, destroy families, increase social and health burdens, and weaken national resilience. Narcotics not only steal a person's health; narcotics steal a family's future, damage the quality of a generation, and ultimately threaten the nation's future," Suyudi warned.
