Swai Rieng Province Road Expansion Project Discussed in Inter-Ministerial Meeting

An inter-ministerial meeting was held in Cambodia to review and discuss the expansion of a road section in Kampong Roteh district, Swai Rieng province. The meeting took place on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction. The meeting was presided over by H.E. Say Sam Al, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction. H.E. Peng Posa, Governor of Swai Rieng Province, also attended and participated in the discussions. Numerous leaders and officials from relevant ministries and institutions, as well as the provincial administration, were present. This road expansion project is seen as a crucial step towards enhancing connectivity and facilitating economic activities within Swai Rieng province. The Cambodian government has been prioritizing infrastructure development to support its economic growth, and improvements to transportation networks, particularly in rural areas, are considered vital for optimizing logistics, stimulating regional economies, and ultimately improving the quality of life for its citizens. The Kampong Roteh district is a significant area within Swai Rieng province, and the proposed road expansion is expected to foster stronger inter-regional cooperation and create new business opportunities.
