Warm Mid-Autumn Festival on Son La Border for Children

On the evening of September 18th, in Chieng Khoong commune, Son La province, the Son La Provincial Border Guard Command, in coordination with charitable donors and the Muong Cai Border Guard Station, organized a program titled 'Border Moon Festival Night'. This initiative aims to bring the joy of the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival to approximately 1,000 children in the border area. The program was held at the Muong Cai Boarding Primary and Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities and the Hoa Dao Kindergarten. These schools have a large number of ethnic minority children who face challenging living conditions and limited opportunities for cultural activities and recreation. The event was designed to create a joyful atmosphere for the children, ensuring they have a warm Mid-Autumn Festival, and to introduce the beauty of Vietnam's traditional Mid-Autumn Festival. During the event, students enjoyed cultural exchanges, including singing and dancing, a lion dance performance, and a magic show performed by border guards, school staff, and students. A video introducing the story of 'Chu Cuoi on the Moon' was also screened, and the children participated together in moon cake celebrations. Organizers prepared nearly 1,000 gifts for the children, including cakes, candies, milk, stuffed animals, and clothing. Additionally, 50 students from disadvantaged backgrounds were awarded scholarships worth 500,000 VND each. Following the event in Muong Cai, the remaining nine Border Guard Stations will collaborate with local Party committees, authorities, schools, and donors to organize similar 'Border Moon Festival Night' events for children in other border areas. These activities contribute to enriching the spiritual lives of children in border regions and simultaneously strengthen cooperation between the Border Guard force and local Party committees, authorities, schools, and the community.
