Vietnam Proposes Enhanced International Cooperation in Space Development at International Space Summit

Vietnamese Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong proposed the establishment of a space network aimed at enhancing development and resilience during the International Space Summit, an event organized by France. General Secretary and President Trong highly valued French President Emmanuel Macron’s initiative to organize the summit, stating that it provides an opportunity for countries to exchange views and help shape a new vision where capability development goes hand in hand with responsibility, and national interests are aligned with the common interests of the international community. Under its one-party system, Vietnam continues to pursue economic growth while emphasizing international cooperation. In particular, international collaboration in advanced fields like space development is considered crucial not only for improving national technological capabilities but also for enhancing the ability to address global challenges. Amidst complex relations with China, Vietnam is diversifying its diplomacy, and strengthening ties with European countries, including France, is seen as part of this effort. This proposal signifies Vietnam's willingness to contribute to international frameworks in the space sector and is noteworthy in exploring the future direction of international cooperation.
