Heavy Rains Cause Significant Damage in Northern Dong Nai City, One Missing, Infrastructure Affected

Heavy rains have caused significant damage in the northern part of Dong Nai City, Vietnam, with ongoing flooding and landslides reported. Authorities are urgently implementing measures to ensure public safety and protect property amidst the complex weather conditions. In Binh Long ward, search and rescue operations are underway for an individual who went missing on the afternoon of September 22nd after being swept away by floodwaters. The Chairman of the Binh Long Ward People's Committee, Dang Hoang Thai, along with leaders from relevant agencies, is directly supervising the efforts at the scene. Initial reports indicate that heavy rainfall on the evening of September 22nd caused flooding on many streets within Binh Long ward. Around 5 PM, residents discovered a white car being swept away by floodwaters on Su Van Hanh Street (Xa Cam neighborhood) and alerted the authorities. Local authorities mobilized forces to conduct a search throughout the night in the suspected area of disappearance. However, due to heavy rain and strong currents, no results have been achieved yet. The search teams are continuing to survey areas along rivers and streams, as well as potential locations where the victim might have been carried, while also coordinating with local residents to gather information and expand the search area if necessary. Meanwhile, in Phuoc Son commune, prolonged heavy rainfall has led to soil erosion at several points along the road and adjacent to the drainage system in the Bau Mit-Lang Dau area of Phuoc Loc hamlet. This has affected the movement of residents. The Phuoc Son Commune Military Command quickly mobilized its militia forces to the scene to provide initial assistance, set up warning barriers, and guide residents and vehicles to move safely. They are also monitoring the landslide situation to mitigate risks. The commune is currently mobilizing personnel and equipment to begin addressing the aftermath of the disaster. The Phuoc Son Commune People's Committee advises residents traveling through the Dak To bridge area to remain highly vigilant, comply with warning signs and instructions from functional forces, and avoid stopping, parking, or gathering in areas with potential safety risks. In areas such as Loc Ninh ward, Loc Tan village, and Loc Thanh village, heavy rains accompanied by strong winds have caused localized flooding and damaged several rubber tree plantations belonging to residents.
