E. Visayas Honors Modern-Day Heroes on Independence Day
Eastern Visayas communities celebrated the Philippines' 128th Independence Day by honoring not only historical heroes but also ordinary citizens whose daily contributions sustain their communities. In Tacloban City, the mayor lauded workers, fishermen, farmers, military, police, healthcare professionals, and teachers as "heroes of today."
