LRT-1 Cavite Extension to Proceed if Villar Group Rejects Offer

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Transportation (DOTr) will proceed with the construction of the Zapote and Niog stations of the Light Rail Transit 1 – Cavite Extension Project if the Villar Group of Companies will refuse to settle with the agency’s offer, its Secretary Giovanni Lopez said on Thursday. According to Lopez, the DOTr will meet with the Villar Group to settle the issues that have caused delays in the project. “We will proceed with the construction of the Zapote and Niog stations,” Lopez said. Lopez said that the DOTr would push through with the construction of the said stations if the Villar Group would refuse to settle. “We will push through with the construction of the Zapote and Niog stations,” he said.
