AYEYARWADY TIMES July 8 Revolutionary allied forces intercepted and attacked a group of military vessels belonging to the provisional government army that were sailing up the Chindwin River from the Alon Mingdaung jetty in Monywa Township, Sagaing Region, at the junction of Kanni and Minkhin townships, according to a statement released by the Chindwin Spring Revolution Force (CSRAF). The revolutionary forces launched an intercept attack around 3 p.m. yesterday, July 7, when a group of 28 military vessels, including 24 cargo ships carrying reinforcements, drone equipment, weapons, ammunition, and provisions for the provisional government army, and 4 combat ships, arrived at the junction of Kanni and Minkhin. The attack was carried out by allied forces within Township-6 of Kanni Township, under the leadership of the Chindwin Spring Revolution Force (CSRAF), using heavy artillery, small arms, and snipers in a coordinated effort. "As of 8 p.m. last night, the warships were still heading upstream from below Panseik village," a source told the Ayeyarwaddy Times. On the same day yesterday, at 12:45 p.m., the Chindwin fighter group and allied forces attacked one of the warships and one cargo ship carrying weapons and ammunition from the military vessel group with three and four forward-mounted cannons. Although the combat ships retaliated with heavy artillery, the revolutionary forces were able to withdraw without casualties, it was learned. This group of military vessels belonging to the provisional government army was also attacked with 13 forward-mounted landmines by the Dawn Generation Kanni People's Defense Force on June 6. Following the battle, the provisional government army has continued to advance the ships using fighter jets, bomb-dropping drones, and reconnaissance drones. It is known that due to shelling of riverside villages from the warships, drone bombings, and aerial threats, approximately 15,000 people from 3,256 households in 18 villages have been forced to flee.
