Cayetano flies to Singapore amid probe

MANILA, Philippines — Senator Alan Peter Cayetano boarded a flight to Singapore last night amid speculative reports that he would be facing criminal indictment in connection with anomalies linked to the holding of the Southeast Asian Games in 2019. Photos showed Cayetano lining up at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 Gate 109 for Singapore Airlines flight SQ 921, which took off at 6:34 p.m. But sources said there was also an entry encoded in the Bureau of Immigration showing Cayetano booked for an Abu Dhabi-bound flight at 5 p.m. on board Etihad Airways flight EY 441. There is no hold-departure order for Cayetano, although he is facing investigation by the National Bureau of Investigation and the Office of the Ombudsman.
