Vietnam Enhances Efforts to Locate and Collect Fallen Soldiers' Remains with New Technology
More than 50 years after national reunification, Vietnam continues its mission to locate and collect the remains of fallen soldiers. Quân đoàn 34's "500-day campaign," utilizing advanced DNA technology, has successfully recovered 1,563 sets of remains, accelerating the identification process.
More than 50 years after the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, the journey to find fallen comrades continues for many soldiers in Vietnam. For Quân đoàn 34, each campaign to search for and collect the remains of martyrs adds further meaning to contemporary life and cultivates the traditional value of "Repaying Gratitude." The "500-day campaign" has so far collected 1,563 sets of martyrs' remains and discovered 9 mass graves. The Ministry of Health is accelerating this "500-day campaign," applying new-generation DNA technology to identify the martyrs. DNA samples of martyrs' remains were collected in Lê Ích Mộc ward, Hải Phòng, as part of the "500-day campaign."
