Police Search Rental Home in Pattaya After Korean Man Swept Away in Flooded Canal, Two Companions Missing

Investigators from Nong Prue Police Station entered the house about one kilometre from the accident site on Friday, September 25th, 2026. The property, at 73/53 Soi Phatthanakan 2, Moo 6, Nong Prue, is thought to have been the trio’s residence. Officers found household items and computer equipment, including three relatively new computer sets. Three related server units were not present in the house. They also discovered two sets of wet clothes that closely resembled garments worn by two of the men in closed-circuit television footage recorded around the time of the incident. Police seized the items for further examination. Authorities have not confirmed whether the computers or servers are linked to any criminal activity. Investigators are still checking the origin and purpose of the equipment. The landlord told police that three South Korean men signed a one-year lease and moved in on the 12th of September 2026, about 12 days before the accident. The incident occurred around 5 a.m. on the 24th of September in Soi Nern Plub Wan, Moo 5, Nong Prue. Three foreign men were walking through floodwaters when one fell into Ta Yai Canal and was carried away by the current according to CCTV. The other two escaped and left the area. Police have been trying to locate them. Police Colonel Natthaphon Phong Suksakun, Chief of Nong Prue Police Station, said his officers are coordinating with Chonburi Immigration and Pattaya Tourist Police to identify the men and urgently track the two survivors. Officers want to interview them about what happened and confirm the identity of the missing man. Search teams have not resumed operations along Ta Yai Canal and connecting waterways because of rain. A full-day search the previous day found no trace of the missing man. Police said they are monitoring conditions and preparing to continue the search when weather allows.
