Yangon, July 12 The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) attacked and captured two joint outposts of the Myanmar military and local People's Militia, which were preparing for military operations and stationed in the Hkawng Lan Phu region of Putao District, Kachin State. Over 20 junta forces were killed in the fighting, a KIA source told Yangon Khit Thit Media. It is known that on the morning of July 10, KIA Brigade 7, Battalion 32, attacked the Myanmar military forces that were preparing for military operations and stationed in the Putao-Hkawng Lan Phu region, as well as their subordinate local People's Militia joint forces. The KIA source said that more than 20 junta and People's Militia joint forces were killed in the attack, and due to heavy casualties, the remaining troops fled and abandoned the outposts. "Yes. We captured two outposts. More than 20 soldiers were killed. Some were captured alive. People's Militia members were also captured," the KIA source told Yangon Khit Thit Media. After the battle, the KIA seized 15 weapons, a large amount of ammunition, and food supplies from the joint forces of the Myanmar military and People's Militia. It is also known that some People's Militia members were captured alive.
