Cambodia Enhances Child Traffic Safety Education with AI, Signs MoU with South Korean University

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Cambodia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on September 18, 2026, with Dongguk University of South Korea concerning the study of feasibility for a project to enhance traffic safety knowledge for children and establish AI-powered traffic safety parks. The signing ceremony was presided over by H.E. Peng Ponea, Minister of Public Works and Transport. The MoU was signed by H.E. Min Manavy, Secretary of State and Secretary-General of the National Road Safety Committee, and Professor Cho Sang SiK, Director of the Regional School Research Institute and Professor at Dongguk University. The event was also attended by leaders and representatives from Dongguk University and numerous government officials. The MoU focuses on conducting a feasibility study for the project titled "Enhancing Traffic Safety Knowledge for Children and Establishing Eco-friendly Traffic Safety Parks Utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI)." The primary objective of this project is to elevate the understanding and promote safe traffic behavior among Cambodian children through education and practical application. The project will involve the creation of traffic safety parks that integrate AI technology and equipment reflecting real-world road conditions, offering an innovative educational experience. Furthermore, it is expected to contribute to building a sustainable educational and operational system by strengthening the capacities of teachers, traffic safety officers, traffic police, and the community.
