Canadian Naval Ship Docks Safely at Sihanoukville Autonomous Port

On the morning of Tuesday, September 22, 2026, a Canadian Navy warship, HMCS Regina (FFH-334), docked safely at the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port. The visit, lasting three days from September 22 to 24, 2026, aims to strengthen solidarity, friendship, and cooperation between the navies of Cambodia and Canada. Upon seeking permission to dock at the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, the ship was welcomed by naval officers and sub-officers of the Ream Naval Base, led by Rear Admiral In Sokhemra, Deputy Commander of the Ream Naval Base. Technical specifications of the vessel: HMCS OTTAWA (FFH 334) has a length of 134.7 meters, a width of 16.5 meters, a draft of 7.5 meters, and a deadweight of 5,100 tons. It is commanded by Commander Darren Sleen. During its visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Canadian Navy delegation plans to pay courtesy calls to His Excellency the Governor of Preah Sihanouk Province, the Commander of the Ream Naval Base, and other high-ranking officials from the Ministry of National Defence. Additionally, friendly sports activities between the two navies and programs for sharing experiences and knowledge are scheduled. It is recalled that earlier in September, two naval ships from two foreign countries, totaling two vessels, had already docked in the Kingdom of Cambodia. These included a Russian warship that docked from September 11-12 at the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, and an Indian Navy ship that docked from September 12-15, 2026, at the Ream Naval Base.
