Russian Tourist Expelled from Vietnam for Dangerous Driving

A 35-year-old Russian female tourist has been expelled from Vietnam after repeatedly engaging in dangerous driving practices, including kneeling on a motorcycle and posting videos of her actions on social media. The Khánh Hòa Provincial Police announced on September 21 that the Immigration Department at Cam Ranh International Airport, in coordination with relevant units, executed the expulsion order for Nikitina Iuliia on September 15. According to authorities, Nikitina Iuliia was convicted by the People's Court of Khánh Hòa Province for "disturbing public order" under Article 318, Clause 1 of the Penal Code. In addition to expulsion from Vietnamese territory, she was fined 30 million VND (approximately $1,200 USD). Between January and June 2025, the tourist was observed multiple times operating a Yamaha R15 motorcycle in a kneeling position on public roads in Cam Lâm and Nam Cam Ranh districts of Khánh Hòa Province, without wearing protective gear. These incidents were filmed, edited, and uploaded to social media platforms, attracting significant views and shares. The Khánh Hòa Provincial Police stated that violations of traffic safety regulations, actions that endanger other road users, and disturbances to public order will be handled in accordance with the law, regardless of nationality. This is not the first instance of foreign tourists facing penalties for traffic safety violations. In March 2025, two South Korean tourists were fined by the Đà Nẵng City Police for riding a large-displacement motorcycle with both hands off the handlebars on Võ Chí Công Street in Đà Nẵng.
