The National Solidarity and Peace-making Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) and the Lahu Democratic Union (LDU) held peace talks at Thingaha Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday. NSPNC Chairman Lt-Gen Yar Pyae attended the meeting, together with Secretary Lt-Gen Min Naing and committee members, LDU Chairman Kyar Solomon and other representatives. During the talk, the NSPNC Chairman said the committee remains open to all ethnic armed organizations for peace, stability and development through bilateral negotiations under the existing legal framework. The LDU Chairman welcomed the government and unconditional peace invitation by the National Solidarity and Peace-making Central Committee (NSPCC) and expressed readiness to discuss regional needs. The two sides discussed socio-economic development in the Kengtung–Pangwine–Wine Li area of Shan State (East), including Arabica coffee cultivation, road connectivity, electricity, water supply, technical support for coffee production and measures to prevent drug trafficking and online fraud. They also discussed regional development, education, agriculture, liaison office proposals and relief matters. Both sides then signed the agreed meeting minutes.
