Cambodian Envoy Proposes 'Cambodia Book Center' at Bulgaria's National Library

He stated, "Currently, the National Library of Bulgaria has book centers from many countries, but not yet from the Kingdom of Cambodia. The presence of a 'Cambodia Book Center' will ensure a suitable place among various nations to showcase the history, civilization, culture, literature, art, religion, tourism, and development of the Khmer nation." Ms. Kalina Ivanova, Director General of the National Library of Bulgaria, welcomed the initiative and provided the Cambodian envoy with relevant documents for the establishment of the book center. Mr. Chea Chanboribouth further elaborated that the center would not only display books but also create a bridge of knowledge between the civilizations of the two countries. He added, "Each book placed on the library shelves will become a silent cultural ambassador, telling the world about the history, civilization, and identity of the Khmer people." The National Library of Bulgaria, "St. St. Cyril and Methodius National Library," was established in 1878, following Bulgaria's liberation.
