Thailand Reviews M81 Motorway Progress and Hears Kanchanaburi Residents' Concerns

Thailand's Deputy Minister of Transport, Phattharaphong Sinhawong, inspected the control center for the M81 Motorway (Western Ring Road), which will connect Bangkok and Nonthaburi, to review preparations for its opening. This inspection aims to ensure the efficient operation and safety of the highway network. During the inspection, resident representatives from Kanchanaburi Province, located along the M81 Motorway, also participated and presented specific requests regarding road improvements. While residents expressed expectations for the revitalization of the local economy and improved living convenience, they also pointed out issues such as the need for enhanced safety on existing roads and delays in infrastructure development. Deputy Minister Phattharaphong listened to these opinions and indicated his intention to consider measures to improve the overall safety of the highway network. The M81 Motorway is expected to improve access to Thailand's western region and enhance logistics efficiency. This inspection and dialogue with residents highlight the importance of infrastructure development that reflects the needs of the local community. Continuous efforts will be required to balance the development of transportation infrastructure with the improvement of local residents' lives.
