Phnom Penh's Doun Penh District Strengthens Public Order to Ease Traffic Congestion

The administrative authorities of Doun Penh district, located in the heart of Phnom Penh, are continuing regular crackdowns aimed at improving public order, enhancing the aesthetics of public spaces, and alleviating traffic congestion. Specifically, on September 17, 2026, under the direction of Mr. Chea Khema, Governor of Doun Penh district, Mr. Kim Vuttha, head of public order for the district, led efforts to maintain order and organize public spaces along the roads surrounding the 900 Market. However, full cooperation from merchants and street vendors in the area has not yet been achieved, making public order maintenance an ongoing challenge. Despite these challenges, district authorities continue to urge merchants to cooperate with the district administration and are conducting awareness campaigns to improve order and public spaces on these roads, thereby facilitating smoother movement for citizens.
