Cambodia Deploys Over 1,400 Artificial Reefs to Boost Marine Resources

As of June 2026, Cambodia has deployed 1,470 Fisheries Productivity Structures (FPS), also known as artificial reefs, according to the Sustainable Coastal and Marine Fisheries Project (SCMF). This initiative aims to restore marine fish stocks and protect the marine ecosystem by reducing destructive fishing practices and creating suitable habitats for fish reproduction and growth.
