Cambodia Reviews Draft Guidelines for Verifying Access to Safe Drinking Water
Cambodia's Ministry of Rural Development convened a meeting to review a draft guideline on verifying access to safe drinking water, aiming to address the needs of rural residents.
Phnom Penh, July 17, 2026 (AKP)--His Excellency Dr. Chhay Rithisen, Minister of Rural Development, presided over a meeting to review the draft guideline on verifying access to safe drinking water for all, held at the Ministry's headquarters on Friday morning, July 17, 2026. The meeting was attended by His Excellency the Permanent Secretary of State, Excellencies, leaders, the Country Director of Plan International Cambodia, technical advisors, and relevant departments. Mr. Chim Charunai, Technical Advisor, presented the preparation of this draft guideline, emphasizing the objectives, mechanisms, indicators, and methods for verifying access to safe drinking water. The meeting thoroughly reviewed the draft and contributed important inputs to make the draft guideline comprehensive, effective, and highly efficient upon its official issuance, capable of responding to the needs of rural residents. His Excellency the Minister expressed his gratitude and high appreciation to the Ministry's leadership, Plan International Cambodia, and technical advisors for preparing and drafting various legal documents that led to this draft.
