Australia Boosts Support for Vulnerable Cambodians with Additional AUD 3 Million

Australia is investing an additional AUD 3 million (approximately USD 2 million) to bolster support for vulnerable Cambodian families facing economic hardship, natural disasters, and other crises. The announcement was made by Australia's Minister for International Development, Dr. Anne Aly, during her visit to Cambodia, as part of Australia's partnership to support a more resilient and prosperous region. The funding will be channeled through social protection and health promotion programs, aimed at strengthening Cambodia's social protection system to enable faster and more effective delivery of assistance to families most in need. This investment will also help protect livelihoods, reduce vulnerability, and ensure communities are better prepared to respond to future crises. The additional funding reflects Australia's commitment to practical development cooperation that strengthens local social protection systems and delivers long-term benefits. During the announcement event held at the National Pediatric Hospital on July 30, 2026, Minister Aly stated, "This additional AUD 3 million will help vulnerable families receive support when they need it most."
