Cambodia's Ministry of Labor Inspects Factory Over Worker Complaints, Mandates Respectful Language

Following complaints received via social media regarding the use of inappropriate language and gestures towards employees, the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training dispatched a special labor inspection team to Sin Kai Ly Garment Co., Ltd. on September 21, 2026. Sun Mesa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, confirmed on September 22 that the inspection found instances of inappropriate language and gestures from section chiefs and team leaders within the production department. The inspection team mandated the employer to instruct the involved parties to correct their behavior and use respectful language towards the workers. "Upon receiving the complaints, the Ministry immediately conducted an inspection and took action," Sun Mesa stated. "Regardless of nationality or position, managers must respect the law, use appropriate language, and uphold the dignity of the workers." The Ministry urges workers and the public to report any observed inappropriate language, gestures, or behavior in the workplace by contacting the Ministry's hotline at 1286, enabling timely intervention by specialized officials.
