Australian Elderly Man Found Dead in Sanur Villa Bathroom

An 80-year-old Australian man, identified by the initials PA, was found dead in the bathroom of his villa in the Sanur area of Denpasar, Bali, on Thursday (16/7/2026). The discovery was made by his 68-year-old wife, SNS. Police are investigating the incident, with initial indications suggesting that illness and old age are the likely causes of death. According to the Head of the Denpasar Selatan Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Iptu Azel Arisandi, the victim was found lying face down on the floor in front of the bathroom. Prior to the discovery, SNS had left the villa for a walk around 09:30 WITA, leaving her husband alone. She returned at approximately 11:30 WITA. Shortly after, she realized the villa was quiet and her husband was nowhere to be seen. After calling out for him with no response, she went to check on him and found him deceased. "Upon entering, the witness saw the victim in a supine position on the floor in front of the bathroom, wearing only underwear, and presumed to be already deceased," Azel stated. Around 13:00 WITA, a friend of SNS also visited the villa to assist in checking on the victim and subsequently reported the incident to the police. An initial crime scene investigation revealed no signs of violence on the victim's body. PA was found with his right hand folded in front of his chest and his left hand extended by his side. He was unclothed except for his underwear, which had slipped down. Several types of medication belonging to PA were also found at the scene, including Melobic 7.5, Prebalin, Comfarol Forte, Telmisartan Sandoz, Antenex Diazepam, and Alodom Nitrazepam.
