11 Suspects Arrested in Cambodia's Bati District for Drug and Theft Offenses

In Bati district, Takeo province, Cambodia, police have arrested 11 suspects believed to be involved in drug offenses and active in local theft. The operation, conducted on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at approximately 9:15 AM, took place in Romsiek village, Tonot commune, and Pearam village, Pearam commune. Among the arrested individuals, several are accused of trafficking and using narcotics. Notably, Touch Tothal, 26, with an unknown occupation, was arrested for drug trafficking and use. Mao Chivlong, 28, and Aim Senghong, 20, both with unknown occupations, are identified as active thieves in the locality and users of illegal substances. Son Bunna, 24, also with an unknown occupation, faces similar charges. Main Sarath, 35, arrested for drug use, had three knives, two crossbows, a sword, and drug paraphernalia seized. Other suspects are also implicated in drug use. During the operation, various items were confiscated, including drug-related materials and weapons. The suspects have been transferred to the Takeo Provincial Police for further legal proceedings. Reports indicate a recent resurgence of criminal activity in the Bati district after a period of relative calm. The abbot of Ang Sinh pagoda in Sreihok village, Chambok commune, recently posted on Facebook about a series of thefts, including the breaking of a chedi to steal money and the theft of vehicles and damage to temple property.
