Former Bac Lieu Chairman Proposed for Disciplinary Action

The findings concluded that Mr. Trung had "degenerated in political ideology, morality, and lifestyle; violated the regulations of the Party and state laws; and violated the regulations on what party members must not do and on exemplary conduct." According to a statement released on the afternoon of July 7, Mr. Trung's violations "caused very serious consequences, severely affecting the prestige of party organizations, localities, agencies, and units, to the extent that disciplinary action must be taken." Therefore, the Central Inspection Committee proposed that the competent authorities consider and discipline Mr. Duong Thanh Trung. Born in 1961 in Phuoc Long district, Mr. Duong Thanh Trung holds a Master's degree in Law and advanced political theory qualifications. He previously served as Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department and Secretary of the Bac Lieu City Party Committee. In late October 2015, he was elected Deputy Secretary of the Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee. He served as Chairman of the Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee from December 2015 until his dismissal in November 2020. In addition, the Central Inspection Committee also proposed disciplinary action against Nguyen Phuong Thao, former Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Youth Union; Nguyen The Minh, former Secretary of the Binh Lieu Commune Party Committee in Quang Ninh province; and Do Truong Giang, former Director of the Lao Cai Department of Industry and Trade, for similar violations.
