
Cambodia: PM Clarifies No Cuts to Education, Health Budgets Despite Defense Spending Increase
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet has clarified that despite increased defense spending, budgets for education and health will not be cut. He assured that these sectors remain top priorities and defense funding will be adequately covered without diverting from social welfare. The medium-term fiscal framework (2027-2029) projects an average 5.6% increase for social welfare.
