Over 32,000 affected by floods in Le Myo Na town

In Le Myo Na town, due to the breach and damage of the Ngwun dam, resulting in flooding, the number of people affected by the disaster has reached over 32,000 as of the statistics collected by the afternoon of August 4, according to the spokesperson for the State President's Office, Dr. Khine Khine Soe. According to the data collected by the afternoon of August 4, it is reported that 5 wards in the town, 106 villages, 7,734 houses, 7,858 households, and 32,607 people were affected by the flood. Relief efforts, including the provision of rice and basic food supplies, and healthcare services, are continuing for the flood-affected citizens. To prevent floodwaters from entering, measures such as driving stakes on the right and left banks of the embankment to prevent erosion, measuring and monitoring water flow speed and depth to block water entry, and driving stakes to control water channels are being carried out. Furthermore, it is reported that a total of 1,088 gallons of gasoline and 402.5 gallons of diesel have been distributed free of charge to rescue teams as of August 4.
