NUG Awards 'People's Hero' Medals to 78 Soldiers and PDF Members Under Ayeyarwaddy Region Military Command

Ayeyarwaddy Times September 9 According to a press release from the Ministry of Defence of the National Unity Government (NUG) regarding the awarding of the 'People's Hero' medal, it has been learned that a total of 78 soldiers from units under the Ayeyarwaddy Region Military Command and members of the People's Defence Force (PDF) have been awarded the 'People's Hero' medal. Of the 78 medal recipients, 71 died while carrying out revolutionary duties, and the remaining seven lost limbs. From the Ayeyarwaddy Region Military Command, 22 individuals received medals, including 21 fallen soldiers and one soldier who lost limbs from Battalion (1) in Pathein District. Furthermore, 30 individuals from Battalion (1) in Hinthada District, including 27 fallen soldiers and three who lost limbs, and 11 individuals from Battalion (3) in Hinthada District, including nine fallen soldiers and two who lost limbs, received medals. From the Ayeyarwaddy Region People's Defence Force, a total of 15 PDF members received the 'People's Hero' medal, including 14 fallen soldiers from Pathein, Kyonpyaw, Thabaung, Pyapon, Chaunggon, Yeji, and Zalun PDF, and one soldier from Pathein PDF who lost limbs. Among the 300 recipients of the 'People's Hero' medal, 78 individuals who sacrificed their lives or limbs while serving under the Ayeyarwaddy Region Military Command and the Ayeyarwaddy Region PDF received the 'People's Hero' medal.
