Cambodia Cabinet Approves National Strategies on Statistics, Supply Chains, and Logistics

On the morning of September 25th, Prime Minister Hun Manet of the Kingdom of Cambodia led a full cabinet meeting at the Peace Palace to discuss and approve three important agendas crucial for the nation's development. The first agenda item was the draft "Official Statistics Policy 2026-2035." This initiative is understood to aim at modernizing the national statistical system and establishing a reliable data foundation for policymaking. Accurate statistical data is vital for economic planning, social development, and international comparisons. Secondly, a progress report was presented on strengthening domestic supply chains and enhancing connectivity to international markets. This is part of a strategy to boost the competitiveness of Cambodian products and expand exports, with the goal of deeper integration into global value chains. The third agenda concerned the progress of the logistics sector. An efficient logistics system is key to facilitating economic activities, reducing costs, and promoting trade. It is presumed that infrastructure development and procedural simplification are being advanced. This cabinet meeting, focusing on promoting economic development, strengthening the national statistical system, and improving the efficiency of supply chains and logistics, represents a significant step for Cambodia as it pursues sustainable growth.
