LTO Summons Driver Involved in Greenhills Road Rage Incident

MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has summoned a driver involved in a road rage incident along Ortigas Avenue in Greenhills, San Juan. The driver of a private vehicle was recorded on video in a heated confrontation with another motorist. The LTO issued a show-cause order to the driver, requiring him to appear at its Intelligence and Investigation Division to explain why he should not be charged for being an “improper person to operate a motor vehicle.” The driver’s license has been suspended for 90 days. The vehicle has also been placed under alarm status pending investigation. “Anger or any misunderstanding should not be brought to the road. Regardless of the cause, it should not escalate into aggression or any action that could endanger other motorists and road users. Anyone who violates the rules and engages in such behavior will be held accountable,” LTO chief Markus Lacalinao said. The LTO will continue to take appropriate action on incidents involving irresponsible and dangerous behavior on the road, according to Lacanilao.
