Cambodia's Stueng Chhkeu Irrigation Project Progresses, Bolstering Water Security and Flood Control

Progress on the Stueng Chhkeu water resource development project in Kampong Speu Province, Cambodia, has been confirmed. Commenced in December 2025, approximately 22% was completed by mid-August 2026. Upon completion, it will have a storage capacity of 115 million cubic meters, contributing to agricultural water supply and flood control across a wide area.

    Cambodian Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology, Thong Cheaththa, inspected the progress of the Steung Chhkreuch Water Resource Development Project in Kampong Speu province. The project, which began in December 2025, has reached 22% completion as of mid-August 2026. It is expected to significantly contribute to irrigation, flood control, and daily water supply.
