Thai Military Allegedly Blocks Return of Over 18,000 Cambodian Citizens
Cambodia's Ministry of Interior announced on September 12, 2026, that the Thai military is obstructing the return of 18,688 Cambodian citizens (9,428 women, 6,066 children) to their homes. The ministry condemned this as a violation of the ceasefire agreement effective December 27, 2025, and accused the Thai military of infringing on Cambodian sovereignty through illegal occupation of civilian areas, destruction of property, and preventing citizens from returning.
