Vietnam Calls for Stronger International Cooperation to Achieve SDGs

The UN Secretary-General praised Vietnam’s remarkable achievements in socio-economic development and international integration in recent years, noting that the country has emerged as a model in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promoting international peace and security, and engaging in key UN processes. Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen said Vietnam currently has nearly 70 million people aged 15-64, giving the country the advantage of a golden population structure. This presents a valuable opportunity to improve the quality of its workforce, drive economic growth and support national development. Vietnam hopes to receive support in accessing concessional financing, particularly WB funding, for research programmes and investment projects related to water security, dam and reservoir safety, and climate adaptation, said Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung.
