Vietnam Commemorates 300th Birth Anniversary of Cultural Figure Le Quy Don

On the evening of July 31, at the Le Quy Don Cultural Figure Memorial Site in Le Quy Don commune, Hung Yen province, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, along with Hung Yen province, organized a national-level ceremony to commemorate the 300th birth anniversary of Le Quy Don (1726-2026). The commemorative event aims to re-evaluate the great legacy and modern values of Le Quy Don, fostering national pride and patriotism among the people. The ceremony honored his life and achievements, and discussions were held on the impact of his thought on contemporary society. As part of the commemoration, a national scientific conference titled "Le Quy Don - Heritage and Contemporary Values" will be held, and a special postage stamp set will be issued to mark the 300th birth anniversary. Hung Yen province has launched a emulation movement to achieve its target of double-digit economic growth, linked to this commemoration. This initiative seeks to connect Le Quy Don's spirit with modern economic development and revitalize the regional economy. Le Quy Don was a prominent figure in 18th-century Vietnam, excelling as a scholar, poet, and mandarin. His extensive knowledge and contributions are highly regarded to this day.
