Ho Chi Minh City Focuses on Enhancing Ideological and Mobilization Work for a New Era
Ho Chi Minh City hosted a seminar on improving the quality and effectiveness of ideological and mobilization work in the new era. Central and city officials emphasized the crucial role of the Party's ideological guidance and public mobilization efforts, calling for their innovation.
On July 17, the Central Propaganda and Mobilization Department and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee jointly organized a seminar in Ho Chi Minh City themed "Innovating and Enhancing the Quality and Effectiveness of Propaganda and Mobilization Work in the New Era." Comrade Nguyen Quang Duc, Member of the Central Committee and Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mobilization Department, attended and delivered the concluding remarks. The seminar summarized the propaganda and mobilization work in Ho Chi Minh City and discussed plans for its implementation in 2026. The crucial role of this work in "pioneering and paving the way" was particularly emphasized. Participants called for the necessity of innovating methodologies and improving the quality of propaganda and mobilization efforts to adapt to the changing circumstances. Under Vietnam's one-party system, propaganda and mobilization work are vital tools for unifying national ideology and securing support for Party policies. As economic growth continues, the Party consistently seeks to maintain and strengthen its leadership and influence to address social challenges and evolving international dynamics. Ho Chi Minh City, as Vietnam's economic hub with a high population density, is seen as a key location where the success of such activities can have nationwide implications. This seminar provided an opportunity for the Party's leadership to hear on-the-ground feedback and explore concrete improvement measures, which will inform the direction of activities beyond 2026. The role of "public mobilization" in gaining national understanding and cooperation is expected to become increasingly important for achieving the Vietnamese government's goal of balancing economic development with social stability.
