Vietnam, Mongolia Seek Deeper Ties Through Parliamentary Diplomacy and New Cooperation Areas

With the Comprehensive Partnership framework in place, Vietnam and Mongolia should look beyond traditional fields and boldly explore new, long-term areas capable of generating fresh growth momentum, said Vietnamese Ambassador to Mongolia Nguyen Tuan Thanh. This is the second visit by a top Vietnamese legislator to Mongolia since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1954, and the first official visit by National Assembly (NA) President Tran Thanh Man to Mongolia in his capacity. The visit demonstrates Vietnam’s high regard for bilateral relations and the important role of parliamentary diplomacy in the countries’ overall relations. At the invitation of Mongolian Parliament Speaker Sandag Byambatsogt and his spouse, NA President Tran Thanh Man and his spouse, along with a high-level Vietnamese delegation, will pay an official visit to Mongolia from September 11. The visit aims to promote substantive cooperation between the two legislatures, contributing to strengthening collaboration in defence, security and economic ties, particularly in science and technology and other emerging areas of cooperation, in line with the depth and scope of the Vietnam - Mongolia Comprehensive Partnership.
