Cambodia: WFP and Japanese Support Provide School Meals to Children Affected by Border Conflict
A school feeding program, supported by the World Food Programme (WFP) and generous contributions from the Japanese people, has commenced in Preah Vihear province, Cambodia, to assist schoolchildren and families displaced by border conflict, aiming to ensure their health, continued education, and future hope.
In Preah Vihear Province, Cambodia, the World Food Programme (WFP) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport has launched a school feeding program in areas affected by border conflict. This initiative aims to support children and families displaced by the conflict. During a visit on September 7, 2026, Ms. Kyungnan Park, WFP Country Director for Cambodia, along with local authorities and H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, met with displaced families. The delegation reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the affected population. The program, made possible by the generous support of the Japanese people, provides crucial assistance to communities impacted by border disputes.
