ODDAR MEANCHEY, Cambodia – September 4, 2026 – Governor Mean Chhanyada of Oddar Meanchey province led a technical working group and relevant officials on September 3rd to inspect bridges and laterite roads damaged by heavy rainfall in Trapaing Prasat district. The inspection covered areas in Osvay commune and a laterite road in Bak Anlong commune, both within the district. Governor Mean Chhanyada stated, "To proceed with the restoration from the damage, the technical team must conduct thorough studies. We will commence repairs and restoration once the rainy season concludes to resolve the challenges faced by the residents." He emphasized the need for the team to meticulously assess the extent of damage to the bridge structures and laterite roads that were washed away by water flow, in order to evaluate the impact and formulate a repair plan. The provincial administration's proactive inspection highlights the commitment to addressing the immediate concerns of the local population affected by the natural disaster and ensuring the swift resumption of normal life.
