Need to respect human rights in business activities

The awareness-raising lecture on human rights and business was held to respect human rights in business activities and to promote cooperation between the government and businesses, said Dr. Khine Khine Win, Deputy Director General of the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission. Dr. Khine Khine Win said this in response to questions from the media at the awareness-raising lecture on human rights and business held at the Myawaddy Media Center in Yangon on July 27. The awareness-raising lecture was jointly organized by the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission and the Inter-Religious Friendship Association of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar (Central). The awareness-raising lecture was attended by the Chairman and members of the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission, Japanese businessmen, the Chairman and officials of the Inter-Religious Friendship Association of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar (Central), and officials from the Union of Myanmar Chamber of Commerce and Industry. U Boi Boi Maung, Vice-Chairman of the Inter-Religious Friendship Association of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar (Islam), said that the awareness-raising lecture held this time is a very meaningful event for the economic, social, development, and peace sectors. At the awareness-raising lecture on human rights and business, members and officials of the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission gave lectures and discussed topics such as basic concepts of human rights, human rights and the environment, and business and human rights.
