Cambodian Dignitary Urges Children to Embrace Morality and Education
Cambodia's Senior Advisor, Men Sam An, met with children in Phnom Penh, emphasizing the importance of being good children, excellent students, and moral citizens. She urged them to pursue education, maintain health, avoid drugs, and persevere, encouraging them to become valuable contributors to the nation's future.
Senior Advisor to the King, Samdech Kittisangham'alibandith Men Sam An, coincidentally met with over 100 children from the 'Kitchen for Children' organization at Chip Mong 271 Mega Mall in Phnom Penh on July 9, 2026. She urged the children to be good children, excellent students, and moral citizens. During the impromptu meeting, Samdech Kittisangham'alibandith Men Sam An offered the children valuable advice, emphasizing five key points: 1. Diligently pursue knowledge, both general and vocational, regardless of circumstances, as education alone can change their destiny and future. 2. Prioritize clean living, eating, drinking, and personal hygiene to prevent illnesses that cause loss of study time and finances. 3. Absolutely stay away from drugs and immoral activities, including gambling and associating with bad influences, which can ruin their future and cause societal disorder. 4. Be good children, excellent students, and moral citizens by respecting elders, teachers, guardians, and benefactors. 5. Maintain a spirit of perseverance and hope, never giving up. Cultivate patience, self-confidence, and the determination to overcome all obstacles to become strong pillars of the next generation and valuable human resources for national development. Samdech Kittisangham'alibandith Men Sam An also conveyed greetings and well wishes from Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate; Samdech Kittipreah Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross; Samdech Mahabawor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister; and Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, Chief Commissioner of the Cambodia Girl Guides Association, expressing their deep care and concern for the children. The 'Kitchen for Children' organization plays a vital role by providing free meals daily to approximately 200 to 250 children. These beneficiaries are often children living on public streets, homeless children, those supporting their families' livelihoods, children lacking parental attention, and stateless children residing in informal settlements within Phnom Penh. On this occasion, Samdech Kittisangham'alibandith also provided financial support, donating 30,000 riels to each of the 15 teachers and 10,000 riels to each of the over 100 children.
