Indonesia's Universal Healthcare Aims for Quality Improvement with New Award

In Indonesia, the National Health Insurance (JKN) program is set to introduce the 'Seva Paramahita Award 2026' to promote qualitative improvements in its services. This award aims to recognize institutions that have made significant contributions to enhancing the quality of healthcare services. The award initiative is designed to bolster the transformation of healthcare quality envisioned by the JKN program. Specifically, it focuses on areas such as patient-centered care, efficient service delivery, and improved access to healthcare, with the goal of encouraging medical institutions and related organizations that demonstrate excellent practices. Since the full implementation of the national health insurance system in 2014, Indonesia has seen substantial improvements in healthcare access. However, challenges such as regional disparities in medical services and variations in service levels among certain healthcare facilities persist. The Seva Paramahita Award is expected to serve as an incentive to address these issues and ensure the provision of high-quality healthcare services uniformly across the nation.
