Vietnam Ranks Among Top 10 Globally for Real Estate Transparency Improvements
Vietnam has entered the top 10 globally for improvements in real estate market transparency. This achievement is underpinned by revised legal frameworks, increased foreign direct investment (FDI), and a focus on infrastructure development. Notably, loans for urban development and housing projects have seen significant growth, signaling an improving investment climate.
Vietnam has broken into the global top 10 for improvements in real estate transparency, a significant achievement driven by recent legal reforms and a surge in foreign direct investment (FDI). The three interconnected laws, crucial for unlocking resources and meeting future growth demands, are set to profoundly impact citizens, organizations, investors, the economy, and national defense and security. Investment in the real estate sector is robust, with outstanding loans for urban and housing development projects reaching VND 833.6 trillion by the end of June, a 6.33% increase from the previous quarter. This indicates a dynamic market and heightened investor interest. FDI continues to flow into manufacturing, logistics, technology, and digital infrastructure, reshaping property requirements for investors. For instance, Hai Phong city is committed to fostering a proactive and responsible administration to serve its residents and business community. An Giang province plans to highlight its urban development, key industries, and investment prospects, showcasing agricultural products, industrial parks, and tourism resources. Furthermore, Vietnam is actively pursuing a green economic transition. This is directly linked to the ability of Vietnamese electronics companies to maintain their positions in global supply chains. The Vietnam Seaports Association is planning to develop green ports through energy management, emission reduction, and renewable energy adoption, reflecting Vietnam's commitment to sustainable growth. In terms of exports, Kim Long Motor's first shipment of finished buses to an international market via a dedicated roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) vessel marks a new development in logistics and port connectivity in the central region. The garment and textile industry also has an opportunity to enhance productivity and add value for more sustainable competitiveness. Reflecting economic growth, Vietnam's appetite for Norwegian salmon has increased, with exports reaching approximately 7,900 tonnes in 2025, a 40% rise from the previous year. This highlights the expansion of Vietnam's consumer market and evolving dietary preferences. As Vietnam shifts its focus in investment attraction from quantity to quality and efficiency, it is considering periodically adjusting market access restrictions for foreign investors based on socio-economic conditions and management requirements. This approach aims to shorten policy lags amid rapid changes in international capital flows, technology, and supply chains. Source: VietnamPlus English
