Vietnam Ministry of National Defense Announces Additional Recruitment for Military Schools in 2026

The Military University Admissions Committee under the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam has announced an additional recruitment of 30 slots for military university training in 2026. This additional intake will be based on the results of the 2026 High School Graduation Exam, as well as the results of aptitude tests conducted by the Ministry of National Defense, Vietnam National University Hanoi, and Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City in 2026. To be eligible for this additional recruitment, candidates must have participated in preliminary selection for military universities and received notification of eligibility. They must not have been admitted to their first-choice military university in the initial round and must not have confirmed enrollment at any other educational institution. Candidates must also meet the health standards set by the university they are applying to, and their total admission score, including any secondary criteria, must be equal to or higher than the admission threshold for the first round. The recruitment is divided into two groups. Group 1 includes the Academy of Logistics, Naval Academy, Border Guard Academy, Air Defense-Air Force Academy (Command and Staff system), and the Officer Schools of Army 1, Army 2, Political Affairs, Special Forces, Artillery, Tank-Armored Vehicles, Chemical Warfare, Signal Corps, Engineers, and the Air Force Officer School (specializing in unmanned aerial vehicles). Group 2 comprises the Military Technical University, Military Medical University, Academy of Military Science, and the Military Technical Officer School. Candidates who meet the health requirements for preliminary selection in a particular group are eligible to apply for additional recruitment to one of the universities within that group, in accordance with regional and target recruitment criteria. Candidates who meet the health requirements for military pilot training and were not admitted in the first round can apply to universities in Group 1. The application period for additional recruitment will be from September 28 to October 7, with selection results announced on October 12.
