Ho Chi Minh City University of Law Honors New Graduates, Emphasizing Responsibility and Social Contribution

Ho Chi Minh City University of Law (ULAW) held its 2026 commencement ceremony on August 8th. The event honored approximately 1,750 new graduates. ULAW awarded over 791 million VND (approximately USD 31,000) in prizes to students with outstanding academic achievements. Additionally, 60 postgraduate scholarships totaling over 1.3 billion VND (approximately USD 51,000) were provided, demonstrating the university's commitment to supporting students' further academic development. The ceremony aimed to recognize students' efforts and foster a sense of responsibility and value as legal professionals contributing to society. In Vietnam, which continues its economic growth under a one-party system, educational institutions are focusing on nurturing future talent, with law universities playing a significant role. In recent years, ULAW has implemented various support measures, including expanding its postgraduate scholarship programs and establishing a mental health counseling room to support students' well-being. The university is also looking towards diversification in the future, aiming to enrich its educational offerings. This is considered part of a strategy to meet the increasingly complex and diverse needs of society accompanying economic development. Furthermore, the establishment of a branch campus in Quang Tri province is progressing, contributing to improved access to higher education in regional areas.
