Cambodia Inspects and Evaluates 12 Rural Roads in Takeo Province
A delegation from Cambodia's Ministry of Rural Development and Ministry of Economy and Finance inspected and evaluated 12 rural roads totaling over 120 kilometers in Takeo Province. These roads are recognized as vital economic arteries supporting agricultural transport and resident mobility.
Takeo Province, Cambodia -- September 2, 2026 -- A joint delegation from Cambodia's Ministry of Rural Development and Ministry of Economy and Finance inspected and evaluated the quality of 12 rural roads, totaling over 120 kilometers, located in six districts within Takeo Province. The roads are under the repair and maintenance responsibility of the Takeo Provincial Department of Rural Development. The inspection took place on the morning of Tuesday, September 1, 2026, in Bati, Samrong, Prey Kabbas, Tram Kak, Treang, and Kirivong districts. During the on-site inspection and evaluation of each road, H.E. Ek Kunthavary, Undersecretary of State for the Ministry of Rural Development, expressed her admiration and high assessment of the technical team from the Takeo Provincial Department of Rural Development for their diligent efforts in constructing, repairing, and maintaining these 12 road lines in accordance with established technical standards and quality requirements. H.E. Ek Kunthavary stated that these 12 rural roads, repaired and maintained by the Takeo Provincial Department of Rural Development, are crucial economic arteries for the local areas, facilitating resident travel and the transportation of agricultural products, thereby responding to the 'Pentagon Strategy Phase 1' of the Royal Government of Cambodia. She urged the technical team to continue focusing on robust technical quality and earnestly appealed to local authorities and the resident beneficiaries not to transport goods exceeding the specified weight limits. This is to preserve the quality of the roads and drainage systems, ensuring their durability for the common benefit of the entire community. H.E. Ek Kunthavary further emphasized that this inspection and evaluation aims to ensure high transparency, quality, and efficiency in the construction and maintenance of rural road infrastructure, meeting the actual needs of the people throughout Takeo Province.
