Cambodia's Ruling Party Strengthens Organization for Commune Council Elections

The ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP) is intensifying efforts to strengthen its organizational structure and expand its membership in preparation for the upcoming Commune Council elections. A meeting led by Mr. Jiv Sunheng, a member of the CPP Central Youth Wing and head of the party's working group for Kampong Chhnang commune, was held on September 5, 2026, at the commune's party headquarters. Mr. Thao Cheththa, Deputy Head of the party's working group for Kampong Thom province and head of the working group for Stoeng district, also attended as a representative, with approximately 65 party members and heads of six village branches participating. During the meeting, Mr. Jiv Sunheng conveyed greetings from Mr. Thao Cheththa, urging party members to strengthen solidarity, serve the people diligently, and successfully fulfill their duties. Furthermore, strategic objectives and plans were outlined for the upcoming commune council elections, aiming to ensure the party's operational efficiency and victory. Party members were instructed to meticulously update party member data, actively recruit new members, especially among the youth, and reinforce internal solidarity. The importance of promptly and effectively addressing residents' requests and challenges was also emphasized. Past achievements highlighted included the construction of rural roads, drainage system improvements, and the installation of solar streetlights on public roads within Kampong Chhnang commune. As a donation from Mr. Thao Cheththa, 20 additional solar streetlights were provided to further benefit and facilitate the lives of local residents. In conclusion, party leaders and working group members at all levels were directed to continue visiting and paying attention to the living conditions of residents, particularly new mothers, bereaved families, and those facing hardship. It was stressed that achieving these objectives is crucial not only for serving the people with sincerity and proactivity but also for maintaining strong popularity and trust among all segments of the population.
