Marcos Backs Dizon Amid NBI Probe Over 2019 SEA Games
President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. maintains confidence in Public Works Secretary Vivencio “Vince” B. Dizon, who is under investigation by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for alleged irregularities concerning the 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. The Palace stated that the President's trust remains as long as no evidence implicates Cabinet members in corruption.
PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. continues to have confidence in Public Works Secretary Vivencio “Vince” B. Dizon despite the National Bureau of Investigation’s (NBI) probe into alleged irregularities in the 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, Malacañang said on Monday. “For now, the President has trust in all members of his Cabinet,” Palace Press Officer Clarissa A. Castro told a news briefing in Filipino. “As long as no evidence has been shown that could involve members of the Cabinet in corruption, the President’s trust remains.” Mr. Dizon, who headed the Bases Conversion and Development Authority, may be asked to testify in the NBI investigation. The Office of the Ombudsman earlier dismissed a case against him involving the 2019 SEA Games sports facilities for lack of evidence. — Erika Mae P. Sinaking
