ITCZ to Dump Rains Over Visayas, Mindanao
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecasts rainy weather in parts of the Visayas and Mindanao due to an intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), with scattered rains and thunderstorms expected.
MANILA, Philippines — Rainy weather will prevail in some parts of the Visayas and Mindanao today due to an intertropical convergence zone, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). PAGASA said that Negros Island Region, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga peninsula, Northern Mindanao and Caraga as well as the provinces of Davao Oriental, Lanao del Sur and Masbate will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. The rest of the Visayas and Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. PAGASA also said that a tropical depression was spotted outside the Philippine area of responsibility.
