Koh Kong Provincial Gendarmerie Conducts Drug Impact Awareness Campaign for SEZ Workers

The Provincial Gendarmerie of Koh Kong province has continued to conduct awareness campaigns on the severe impacts of drug abuse for workers employed in the province's Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Under the direction of Lieutenant Colonel Noun Vutha, Deputy Commander in charge of the Anti-Drug Unit, the educational outreach took place at the KKN4 factory, located in Cham Yiam village, Pak Khlong commune, Mondul Seima district. A total of 200 workers participated, including 50 women. The campaign covered the negative effects of narcotics, electronic cigarettes, and the use of the 'NoDrug' mobile application. Lieutenant Colonel Noun Vutha stated on September 22, following instructions from Brigadier General Tang Chhun Sreing, the Provincial Gendarmerie Commander, that the campaign aimed to inform participants about how drug abuse can lead to the loss of property, honor, and time, and can even pose a threat to life. He further emphasized that drug problems are a shared societal issue requiring the participation of all members to prevent its spread within the community. He highlighted that youth are a core force in disseminating information and educating families and the general public to avoid involvement with drugs, which bring suffering to individuals, families, and the community.
